Listen to Your Skin

Listen to your skin: if it feels itchy or “tight” after exfoliating (especially after adding a moisturizer), ease up on how long, how hard, and how frequently you “do it”!

On the flip-side, if your skin’s feeling oily or “thick”, increase frequency or even tension of your next scrub. And, keep in mind: different areas need a little more and a little less attention.

Your skin and its barrier will tell you what you how much exfoliation you need and how often. It may change seasonally, and will definitely change with age, but listening to what your skin is telling you will help you get it all just right!

Tips for Getting the Most Out of Your Bitch Bar

  • Wet Your Skin: Start by thoroughly wetting your body with warm water to prepare your skin for exfoliating.
  • When skin is wet and pores are open: smooth the Bitch Bar gently over areas with tough skin, or areas you're intending to shave or apply tanner skin
  • Arms, legs, feet, backside, back, elbows, oily skin.
  • Go easy! You can always exfoliate MORE if you need it. It's much harder to "unexfoliate" if you get too aggressive.
  • Rinse: After exfoliating, rinse thoroughly with warm water to remove all soap.
  • Pat Dry: Gently pat your skin dry with a clean towel. Avoid rubbing to maintain moisture levels.
  • Follow Up: for best results, follow up with your favorite moisturizer or body cream to lock in hydration.
  • Store Properly: Keep the soap bar in a dry, well-ventilated area (like a soap dish) to preserve its longevity and maintain its quality. Be sure and keep the bar out of the main stream of water to prolong life.
